The Legal Support Specialist serves as a proactive operational partner to the General Counsel and Legal Team, supporting the effectiveness, efficiency, and execution of key departmental priorities. This role brings together executive support, legal operations, project management, technology enablement, knowledge management, communications, governance support, and departmental administration to help the Legal Team operate efficiently, strengthen workflows, and deliver exceptional service to the business.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coordinate the General Counsel’s calendar, priorities, meetings, commitments, travel, and expenses to support effective planning and execution.
  • Prepare agendas, presentations, briefing materials, reports, and other materials for Board, Committee, leadership, and business meetings.
  • Track action items, commitments, key Legal Team priorities, special projects, deadlines, and related follow-up activities.
  • Support Legal Team operations, including planning calendars, recurring processes, organizational resources, shared files, records, and administrative infrastructure.
  • Support budgeting, invoice administration, vendor relationships, reporting, operational metrics, industry partnerships, memberships, and external engagements.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve Legal Team workflows, consistency, efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Administer collaboration and knowledge-sharing platforms, including file-management systems, repositories, resources, and reference materials.
  • Support adoption, training, and enablement for Microsoft 365, Copilot, Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate, and other approved technologies.
  • Draft and coordinate Legal Team communications, announcements, updates, meetings, Town Halls, planning sessions, and employee engagement activities.
  • Support onboarding, recognition, professional development, continuous improvement initiatives, governance calendars, compliance administration, certifications, training requirements, and reporting activities.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in legal operations, business operations, project coordination, executive support, legal administration, corporate governance, compliance, process improvement, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting senior executives and coordinating complex projects and initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational and project-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership without significant prompting, assess current workflows, and proactively recommend practical improvements.
  • Experience driving execution and accountability across multiple workstreams.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams, Forms, SharePoint, Copilot, Power Automate, and other workplace productivity tools, with curiosity and comfort learning emerging AI and legal technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a legal department, professional services environment, or other highly regulated business environment.
  • Experience implementing operational improvements, technology solutions, or process-management initiatives.
  • Background in law firms, in-house legal teams, accounting firms, professional services, or process-heavy corporate functions undergoing technology or operational change.
