Work Environment
The role of Physical Therapist Assistant is primarily onsite at our hospital facility, featuring advanced treatment rooms and rehabilitation areas designed to optimize patient outcomes. You will be part of a supportive team, working Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while making a substantial impact in patients' lives each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and follow through on personalized therapy programs developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, focusing on enhancing mobility, strength, and functional abilities of patients.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular reeducation, and various modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient treatments and their responses, utilizing our advanced electronic medical record (EMR) system for seamless recordkeeping and communication.
- Educate patients on proper techniques, body mechanics, and home exercise programs to facilitate continued progress and safety between therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, clinic aides, and administrative staff to streamline patient flow and deliver top-tier care.
- Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, and proactively communicate any changes in a patient's condition to the supervising physical therapist and family members.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our patient demographic primarily includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work directly with a diverse group of patients, allowing you to build relationships and foster trust, ultimately contributing to their recovery journeys and quality of life.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum of an Associate's Degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is required.
- Licensure: Active and current PTA license in the state of New Jersey is mandatory.
- Skills: Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a team-based environment, are essential.
- Certifications: Current CPR certification is required, or the willingness to obtain it prior to starting the position.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
