Position Overview
Ensign Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team at our state-of-the-art facility in White Plains, New York. This full-time position entails providing direct patient care under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, ensuring comprehensive treatment plans are executed effectively to enhance patient recovery and overall wellbeing. Work Environment
This position operates onsite within our hospital facility, offering an engaging and collaborative atmosphere where teamwork is essential. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be working alongside physical therapists, physicians, nursing staff, and support personnel to ensure seamless patient care. Standard working hours are from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required occasionally to meet clinic operations or patient needs, enhancing your ability to deliver tailored patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct physical therapy services as prescribed by physical therapists, actively following individualized care plans to assist patients in achieving their rehabilitation goals.
- Administer therapeutic exercises and treatments, including active and passive modalities such as heat and cold therapy, ultrasound, and massage, to relieve pain and assist in recovery.
- Guide and support patients in therapeutic activities that foster muscle reeducation, functional training, and mobility improvement, ensuring a safe and effective experience.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate patient progress, documenting changes in condition and reporting findings to the supervising physical therapist and relevant healthcare personnel.
- Educate patients and their families on the safe use of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, crutches, and braces, fostering independent functional capabilities.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and notes, ensuring all documentation is completed within designated timeframes to uphold organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing education and training initiatives, participating in interdisciplinary meetings, and contributing to quality improvement efforts.
- Assist with administrative duties as required, helping to streamline clinic operations and patient flow.

Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program, holding an Associate's degree in science or applied science approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
- Possess a current PTA certification or license in accordance with state laws.
- Current CPR certification is required to ensure patient safety.
- A valid driver’s license with access to transportation that is insured and in compliance with both state and organizational requirements is essential for travel to patient locations, if necessary.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred, allowing for a smoother integration into our care model.
- Prior experience with specialized populations or therapeutic modalities may be beneficial.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this role ranges from USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
