Position Overview
Function Better Physical Therapy Assistant Services is actively seeking a compassionate and driven Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our dedicated team in Rockville Centre, New York. In this full-time, onsite role, you will play a crucial part in assisting with patient rehabilitation and recovery in a hospital setting. You will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to implement individualized treatment plans that enhance mobility and improve the quality of life for our patients.

Work Environment
As a PTA, you will work in a modern hospital facility equipped with advanced therapeutic tools and technologies. Our flexible scheduling approach allows you to balance your personal and professional commitments, focusing primarily on weekday shifts from 9 am to 5 pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the Doctor of Physical Therapy's (DPT) prescribed Plan of Care, ensuring timely and effective patient treatment.
- Provide direct, hands-on manual therapy techniques and functional exercises tailored to individual patient needs, focusing on pain management and mobility enhancement.
- Document patient progress regularly and accurately, using appropriate systems to ensure compliance with billing practices and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create a seamless care experience, coordinating treatment strategies and sharing insights about patient progress.
- Adhere strictly to state and federal regulations regarding documentation, patient privacy, and safety protocols.
Patient Population / Client Focus
You will primarily work with orthopedic patients in a diverse demographic ranging from young athletes to older adults recovering from surgeries or injuries. Your focus will be on helping these patients regain their functional abilities through tailored rehabilitation approaches that suit their lifestyle and activity level.
Qualifications
- Current New York State licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Capability to integrate patient care with an understanding of business aspects, ensuring the highest standards of service while contributing to organizational goals.
- A positive, ethical mindset accompanied by a genuine passion for patient care and professional development.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to operate in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in outpatient settings, particularly in orthopedics, will be considered a plus.
- Knowledge or experience with sales techniques is beneficial, though training will be provided to enhance your skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in hands-on manual therapy and therapeutic exercises.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 60,000 annually, with performance-based bonus opportunities. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
