Minimum Entry salary $23.50 - $25. Salary commensurate with experience
POSITION OVERVIEW:
With minimal supervision, performs standard welding functions requiring interpretation of blueprints and the use of basic measuring tools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. Represents a summary of the range of duties, tasks, and responsibilities. - Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Ensure quality and specification which requires use of calipers, micrometers and height gauge, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.
- Repair and maintain equipment, machinery, and other components without compromising safety.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws and make necessary adjustments.
- Follow all safety protocols and standards. Work in a safe and efficient manner.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a welder. Minimum one years' experience in manufacturing GTAW (TIG welding) preferred or minimum 6-month vocational training.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective gear (clothing, face-shield, gloves, etc..)
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to use shop tools.
- Understanding welding fixtures.
- Must be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and height gauge.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
