Full job description
IOP (intensive outpatient program) serves State College Area School District students in grades 6-12. This is a unique partnership between UPMC and State College Area School District. The Intensive Outpatient Program supports adolescents who need treatment/services due to a psychiatric condition that is interfering with their ability to function successfully within the community/school. This program is designed to avoid a higher level of care or to use as a step-down service within a mental health continuum. Youth may receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management services, individual, group, or family counseling.
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of $7,000 for a 2-year work commitment!
Responsibilities:
Clinical Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct patient assessments, evaluate treatment needs, and develop individualized treatment plans that address changing clinical needs.
- Provide individual and group therapy, engage families when appropriate, and educate patients on recovery and wellness.
Care Coordination & Case Management
- Collaborate with the clinical team to review cases, discuss service needs, and coordinate referrals to appropriate levels of care and community resources.
- Participate in treatment team meetings to monitor progress, update treatment plans, and support continuing care recommendations.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment sessions, case management activities, and productivity records.
- Submit clinical information to support service authorizations and ensure compliance with program and payer requirements.
Quality & Program Improvement
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
- Review patient progress and significant clinical changes with supervisors and other clinical staff as appropriate.
Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in practicing state's code)
One year of clinical experience preferred.
Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM preferred.
Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.
ATTENTION: A COPY OF YOUR MASTER'S DEGREE LEVEL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Passed the examination required by 49.11. relating to licensure examination. Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.
