Position Overview
Velocity Physical Therapy is excited to announce an opening for a Lead Orthopedic Physical Therapist in our Orlando, Florida facility. Work Environment
Located in the vibrant city of Orlando, our facility is designed to promote patient recovery through advanced rehabilitation techniques. The hospital environment offers a dynamic workplace, where you'll collaborate with a talented team of healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists. The clinic is well-equipped with modern tools and technology, allowing you to deliver high-quality orthopedic care. This full-time role involves working onsite from Monday to Friday, with a 9 AM to 5 PM schedule, creating a balanced work-life dynamic.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients referred from physicians within 24 hours to formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs and goals, as outlined in the physician’s treatment plan.
- Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants in the delivery of care and ensure adherence to state practice regulations.
- Communicate regularly with healthcare team members regarding patient status, treatment progress, and any required modifications to care plans.
- Document all patient interactions, evaluations, treatment summaries, and discharge plans in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Participate in inter-professional care conferences and contribute valuable insights to enhance patient rehabilitation outcomes.
- Conduct in-service training sessions for staff to support ongoing education and improvements in clinical practice.
- Instruct patients and families in mobility techniques and home exercise programs to facilitate effective recovery post-discharge.
- Identify the need for durable medical equipment and ensure patients receive appropriate resources to maintain their independence.
- Proactively report any maintenance issues with therapy equipment to uphold patient safety and service quality.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will work primarily with patients undergoing orthopedic rehabilitation. This demographic includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting their musculoskeletal abilities. Your contributions are vital in helping patients regain their strength, mobility, and independence through targeted therapies and supportive care.
Qualifications
- Current Florida State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, demonstrating solid orthopedic knowledge and practices.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in outpatient orthopedic settings is preferred, including hands-on skills in manual therapy and exercise-based rehabilitation.
- Strong communication skills to interface with a diverse range of patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.

Compensation and Benefits
The Lead Orthopedic Physical Therapist position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000, supplemented with a comprehensive benefits package.
