Primary Shift: 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The Food Service Worker supports patient nutrition operations by preparing, assembling, delivering, and retrieving patient meal trays while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and customer service. This role works closely with patients, caregivers, and nutrition services staff to ensure exceptional dining experience and accurate meal delivery.


Hours: Variable shifts between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Every other weekend is required. Must be able to work every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. 

Key Duties

• Assemble and deliver patient meal trays accurately and on time.
• Verify patient identity and ensure meals are delivered to the correct location.
• Retrieve meal trays and maintain tray line work areas.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Separate and dispose of trash, compost, and recycling according to department procedures.
• Stock supplies and rotate inventory following food safety standards.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary work areas while providing excellent customer service.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, minimum 18 years of age. 

Experience: Prior experience in a high volume, fast paced food service environment is preferred. 

Knowledge/Special Skills: Ability to read, speak, write and understand English. Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to follow basic oral and written instructions. Meets the physical demands of the job, including standing for extended periods of time and walking long distances. Must be dependable – no excessive absenteeism/tardiness - per department policy. Understands and follows safety and sanitation procedures.
