Position Overview

Gateway Physical Therapy in Newark, New Jersey, is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic rehabilitation team. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our hospital facility in Newark, NJ. Our state-of-the-art rehabilitation center is equipped with the latest technologies and therapeutic equipment to support patient recovery. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility required to meet the needs of our patients and clinic operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists in designing and implementing tailored treatment plans, focusing on improving patient mobility, strength, and functional capabilities.
  • Guide patients through individualized therapeutic exercises, stretches, and recovery activities aimed at enhancing physical health and mitigating pain.
  • Educate patients on proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise regimens to facilitate ongoing recovery beyond clinical visits.
  • Administer therapeutic modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision and guidance of the Physical Therapist.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking parameters such as range of motion, strength improvements, and overall rehabilitative advancements.
  • Ensure treatment areas are organized and adequately prepared for each session, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our patients.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure cohesive patient care, discussing treatment strategies and optimizing rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support and motivation to patients, fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to healing and recovery.
  • Uphold ethical standards of practice, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.

Compensation and Benefits
