Full job description
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service in a high-volume call center environment. This role supports appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, data entry, and coordination of care across multiple clinical departments.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00/8:30 AM to 4:30/5:00 PM, with occasional Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle inbound calls and schedule appointments for 25 clinical departments.
- Coordinate specialty appointments requiring detailed scheduling and eligibility review.
- Answer patient questions regarding appointments, referrals, and services.
- Document patient interactions accurately in Epic/Health Connect.
- Send messages and route communications to providers and clinical staff.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Research scheduling requirements and ensure accurate patient placement.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate department when necessary.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Provide professional, compassionate customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Customer service, call center, healthcare, or patient access experience preferred.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and data entry.
- Experience with Epic, Health Connect, or other EHR systems preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume environment.
