Key Responsibilities

• Implement and alter treatment plans devised by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring all interventions are appropriate and effective for individual patient needs.
• Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises tailored to their specific recovery goals—examples include strength training, gait training, and coordination activities.
• Document patient progress meticulously in accordance with departmental protocols, utilizing electronic health record systems for efficiency.
• Create a safe and engaging rehabilitation environment, managing any potential hazards and ensuring that all therapy equipment is ready and compliant with safety regulations.
• Encourage and motivate residents through positive reinforcement, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their challenges, particularly during difficult rehabilitation phases.
• Engage with nursing and therapy staff to coordinate patient experiences, establishing a holistic approach to care that considers all aspects of a patient’s health.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on older adults and patients recovering from various medical conditions, including surgeries, injuries, or chronic illnesses. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field focusing on physical therapy, or an Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and active Virginia PTA license or eligibility for licensure.

Compensation and Benefits
