Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team at Athletics Therapy Center in Ashburn, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and alter treatment plans devised by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring all interventions are appropriate and effective for individual patient needs.
- Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises tailored to their specific recovery goals—examples include strength training, gait training, and coordination activities.
- Document patient progress meticulously in accordance with departmental protocols, utilizing electronic health record systems for efficiency.
- Create a safe and engaging rehabilitation environment, managing any potential hazards and ensuring that all therapy equipment is ready and compliant with safety regulations.
- Encourage and motivate residents through positive reinforcement, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their challenges, particularly during difficult rehabilitation phases.
- Engage with nursing and therapy staff to coordinate patient experiences, establishing a holistic approach to care that considers all aspects of a patient’s health.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on older adults and patients recovering from various medical conditions, including surgeries, injuries, or chronic illnesses. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by this population, you will tailor interventions to meet their specific needs, ensuring that patients not only recover but also improve their overall quality of life. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field focusing on physical therapy, or an Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current and active Virginia PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner to patients and their families.
- A collaborative spirit, with a desire to work as part of a cohesive rehabilitation team.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
