Mechanical Engineer, Thermal Equipment Applications
Location: Richfield, WI (100% on-site)
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Pay: $65,000 to $80,000 per year, plus performance incentives
Move beyond the drafting cube into a client-facing engineering role at a financially strong manufacturer with a 40-year history of zero layoffs.
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a closely related field
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- 2+ years in technical inside sales, applications engineering, or proposal writing
- Ability to manage 20 to 25 client consultations per day
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into financial and operational benefits
- Stable, progressive work history
- Must live within 45 minutes of the Washington County / Germantown / Richfield area
- U.S. work authorization
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the engineering authority in 20 to 25 daily client consultations by phone, email, and video
- Configure custom thermal and fluid systems using thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and structural principles
- Generate quotes, proposals, and ROI payback models using automated software
- Analyze customer blueprints and specs to deliver value-engineered solutions
- Partner with production and manufacturing engineers on lead times and fabrication limits
- Present technical specifications to client plant managers and engineering leaders
Nice-to-Haves
- Industrial heat exchanger, combustion, HVAC, or fluid handling experience
- CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) or engineering configurator experience
- Energy savings and ROI modeling experience
Compensation and Benefits
- $65,000 to $80,000 per year
