Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and drive all environmental, health, and safety initiatives across a fast-paced food manufacturing operation. This individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives on the manufacturing floor, has experience in food production environments, and can effectively partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to reduce risk, improve compliance, and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Lead all EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives for the facility.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable environmental regulations.
Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and injury prevention programs.
Develop and maintain safety metrics, KPIs, and reporting for leadership.
Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and behavioral safety observations.
Oversee workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and safety recordkeeping.
Lead environmental compliance programs, including waste management, stormwater, air quality, and hazardous materials requirements.
Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
Drive employee engagement through safety committees, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage regulatory inspections and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
Support capital projects and facility expansions by ensuring EHS requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
5+ years of EHS leadership experience within food manufacturing, or a related manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, workers' compensation, and environmental regulations.
Experience leading safety culture transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Proven success conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
CSP, ASP, CHMM, or related certifications are highly preferred.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
