Surgical Veterinary Technician

Are you a Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting and guiding others? Join the Surgical team at Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) and work alongside our Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeons, surgical residents, and surgical interns.
PVESC is growing! Our new 42,000-square-foot hospital is opening soon, creating exciting opportunities to grow your career alongside our expanding specialty services and team. We re committed to exceptional patient care, professional development, and a collaborative, team-focused culture.
What You ll Do
- Support soft tissue, orthopedic, laparoscopic, and neurosurgical procedures
- Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Prepare patients and maintain sterile technique in the OR
- Provide post-operative care, treatments, and documentation
- Collaborate with surgeons, residents, interns, and the surgical team
- Communicate compassionately with clients and advocate for patients
- Support department flow, scheduling, equipment, and surgical supplies
What We re Looking For
- LVT/CVT/RVT; VTS preferred
- Strong anesthesia and surgical experience
- Experienced Veterinary Assistants may be considered
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Team-oriented approach and strong leadership skills
- Passion for learning and advancing surgical care
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time: Wednesday Saturday, 9:00 AM 7:30 PM or similar, if changed due to hospital needs
- Schedule will be discussed during interview
- Some holidays required
- $25 $38/hour, based on experience and licensure
- Higher range available for VTS
- Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus based on experience and credentials
