Trusted is seeking an experienced nurse for this exciting travel nursing assignment. Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers accepted if they have a minimum of 18 months of MedSurg and/or ICU experience and Epic or Cerner experience; if experience is strictly ICU, Cerner is required. At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience is required for 6 North Trauma Surgical assignments.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Chemo experience highly preferred but not required for 5 North MedSurg/Oncology assignments.

Special Requests: Only 1 active application is allowed for the same unit and shift at the same facility. You may apply to both day and night shift on the same unit at the same facility, but not to multiple positions for the same shift on the same unit and facility. Former staff must be away for 6 months before returning as a traveler, measured from last shift worked to start date. Holiday time off cannot be guaranteed prior to arrival. Baptist blackout 2026 RTO dates: Martin Luther King Jr. Day 1/19-20; Valentine’s Day week 2/13-16; entire month of March; Easter weekend 4/18-20; Mother’s Day weekend 5/10-12; Memorial Day week 5/24-5/26; Father’s Day weekend 6/14-16; Fourth of July 7/3-6; Labor Day weekend 8/30-9/1; Halloween 10/30-11/2; Thanksgiving 11/26-30; Christmas and New Year’s 12/21-1/1. Up to 7 days off may be approved, excluding listed blackout dates; blackout dates require NM/EANH approval.

Unit Details: Assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation. Typically 1:4 ratio; with the lower ratio, RNs are expected to turn patients and assist with baths and ADLs. 6 North Trauma Surgical: General surgery and vascular surgery patients; wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation, and escalations. 5 South Neuroscience: CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative disease, post-trauma, and angiogram patients; IV starts, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG, NGT, colostomy/ostomy, wound care, chest tubes, surgical site care, C-collar, abdominal binders, and restraints. 5 North MedSurg/Oncology: MS/oncology, palliative care, and ETOH withdrawal patients; all patient types except stroke and MI; high-acuity, fast-paced MedSurg; 1:4-5 ratio; trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts, and chemo administration if certified. Telemetry is monitored on hallway monitors and by tele techs on the ground floor. 3 South Orthopedics: Orthopedic and spine cases including joint replacements, fractures, fusions, and laminectomies; PCA pumps, negative-pressure dressings, dressing changes, foleys, and hemovac/JP drains. 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology: Urology, ENT, ortho, and MedSurg patients; trach care, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, and nurse-driven foley protocol. RNs are required to interpret and confirm telemetry strip readings every 4 hours. Uses Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month. No call. One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. 4-week schedule cycle; no self-scheduling (uses Smart Square).

Floating Requirements: Float to any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds).

7 days maximum time off.
