Work Environment

The successful candidate will work onsite at our full-service hospital in Ashburn, Virginia. You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including licensed physical therapists, nursing staff, and wellness coordinators, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement tailored physical therapy treatment plans developed by supervising physical therapists, ensuring that each patient's therapeutic needs are met.
• Provide hands-on interventions, such as therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility support to facilitate patient recovery and independence.
• Monitor patient progress diligently, documenting changes and responses meticulously in accordance with facility policies and Medicare guidelines.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about rehabilitation goals, safety strategies, and home exercise programs to enhance recovery outcomes.
• Engage in active collaboration with your team members to integrate insights from nursing and wellness sectors, providing comprehensive and cohesive patient care.
• Maintain timely and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards within the healthcare industry.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily be working with a diverse population of patients, including geriatric individuals and those requiring long-term rehabilitation following surgery or illness. Your role is critical in assisting these patients in regaining mobility, enhancing their physical capabilities, and facilitating their transition to a more independent lifestyle.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification or a willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills necessary for building rapport with patients and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

• At least two years of experience in a physical therapy setting, particularly within geriatric or long-term care environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing coordinated patient care.

Compensation and Benefits

Resurge Rehab & Therapy offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus additional performance-based incentives.
