Work Environment

The position is primarily onsite within various ALFs, enabling a dynamic interaction with residents, their families, and the healthcare team. Here, you will work closely with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Orthopedic Physicians, and Chiropractors to create a seamless continuum of care, emphasizing a holistic approach to recovery in home-like settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists aimed at enhancing orthopedic recovery and improving mobility for residents.
• Provide empathetic care, paying close attention to the individual needs and comfort of residents during therapy sessions.
• Continuously monitor and accurately report on patient progress, adapting care strategies as necessary to meet evolving needs.
• Engage in regular collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Establish and nurture trusting relationships with residents, caregivers, and ALF staff to encourage open communication and optimize care delivery.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment using a user-friendly mobile Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role is on senior residents in Assisted Living Facilities, many of whom may be coping with complex health issues associated with aging. PTAs play a crucial role in promoting mobility, rehabilitating after surgery, and reducing the risk of falls, thus enhancing both the physical and psychological well-being of our clients.

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New Jersey.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality patient care with compassion and attention to detail.
• Skills in communication, time management, and adaptability, essential for success in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while being an integral part of a broader clinical team.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of two years of experience as a PTA, preferably in outpatient settings, geriatrics, home care, or ALF/SNF.
• Experience working with elderly populations, focusing on rehabilitation and mobility enhancement.
