Full job description

A Long-Term Care organization in the Albany, NY area is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in Wound Care .

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to residents while following facility standards and care practices.

  • Manage and treat all open wounds in the facility, including wound cleaning and dressing changes.

  • Monitor residents and provide medications and treatments as ordered.

  • Complete admission paperwork and required nursing documentation.

  • Document resident care in resident and department records.

  • Monitor infection control and help ensure proper infection-control practices are followed.

  • Complete monthly infection-control reports and other required reports.

  • Work with the interdisciplinary team to address resident needs and concerns.

  • Provide support and guidance to residents and their families.

  • Maintain resident privacy and keep all resident information confidential.

  • Help maintain a safe environment for residents and staff by following infection-control policies and procedures.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must have a current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license.

  • Must be Wound and Ostomy Certified.

  • Long-term care experience is preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Friendly, dependable, and able to work well as part of a team.
