We are currently looking for an Exterior Trim Design and Release Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, MI. Option for brief summary provided by the business.
A Day in the Life:
This role will be responsible for developing exterior vehicle components based on materials such as plastics, rubber, adhesive, paint, sealants, steel and aluminum. The role will require coordination with Suppliers, Manufacturing Plants, Design Engineers and Purchasing to achieve company KPI’s (Quality, Cost, Schedule). In addition, will be responsible for generating, developing and implementing novel ideas that contribute to vehicle quality improvement, cost reduction or weigh reduction.
Job functions include but are not limited to:
- Design and validation of Front/Rear Bumper Fascia (in-house); Coordination with Nissan plant plastic engineering for manufacture of Front/Rear Bumper Fascia
- Design/validation of chrome/painted/mold-in-color parts for Exterior Trim/Front End Module (with supplier)
- Quality, Cost, and Timing management of Exterior Trim and Front End Module parts
- Collaboration with Styling for shape development of A-surface parts
- Safety and Regulatory performance (pedestrian protection/low speed impact)
- Achievement of Perceived Quality expectations, including Fit and Finish management
Who We’re Looking for:
Required:
- Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- Minimum 3 or more years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience.
- Ability to perform work onsite at NTCNA Farmington Hills, Mi
- Travel requirements: up to 25%

- Ability work overtime may be required
