This large hospital is seeking a transplant surgeon for locum tenens coverage across inpatient and operating room settings. The facility supports a transplant surgery program with dedicated surgical and inpatient resources to manage complex transplant cases. Comprehensive clinical support services are available to facilitate continuity of care for transplant patients. About the Facility Location

Virginia offers a range of attractions suited to a variety of interests, including Arlington National Cemetery, the Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center, and access to wineries and vineyards throughout the region. Shenandoah National Park is reachable in approximately two hours and features over 500 miles of hiking trails across more than 200,000 acres! About the Clinician's Workday

The transplant surgeon will provide inpatient and OR coverage on a Day Shift and 24-Hour restricted call schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts operate as 24-hour restricted call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM, while Wednesday and Thursday include hospital/inpatient hours from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by office hours from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Clinical responsibilities include kidney transplant surgery for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients, with a higher volume focus on adults and older patients, as well as living donor surgery and post-operative care, complication recovery, and outpatient follow-up. Board certification is required for this assignment.
