The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots electrical and electronic equipment, mechanical, and process equipment making repairs as necessary and performs various diagnostics on production equipment. This position also assists in the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery including, building lighting systems, production lines and overall facility appearance.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform all maintenance work safely and in accordance with plant policies, procedures, and applicable codes.
- Obtain required permits and ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are in place before beginning work.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including motors, drives, VFDs, I/O networks, gauges, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process control equipment.
- Maintain and repair mechanical drive components, including gearboxes, bearings, rolls, gears, sprockets, chains, belts, and alignment systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and ensure proper lubrication of equipment, with a strong focus on preventing equipment failures.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate repairs with production operations to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Work effectively with operators, maintenance personnel, specialists, and engineers while participating in troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and team-based problem solving.
- 5+ years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, Electrical, or a related field.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical documents, schematics, and diagrams.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and programs.
- Experience coordinating and working with outside contractors for maintenance, repairs, and projects beyond internal capabilities.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and committed to continuous improvement, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
