Depending on placement, an intern may assist with:
Collecting, organizing, and reviewing business information or data
Preparing reports, presentations, documents, dashboards, or project updates
Tracking assignments, deadlines, metrics, action items, or department deliverables
Supporting meetings, communications, training materials, and department initiatives
Completing a defined project aligned with the assigned department and presenting a final deliverable
Communicating progress, questions, risks, and barriers to the assigned supervisor

Internship placements are designed to connect a student’s academic background, demonstrated interests, and transferable skills to meaningful business work. Candidates with equivalent coursework, project experience, employment experience, military experience, volunteer experience, certificates, or other relevant training are encouraged to apply.
Business, Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation: Aligns with Operations and Fleet Management, Project Management Office, Third-Party Logistics and Brokerage, and Contractor Business Support. Interns may support operational reporting, workflow documentation, service metrics, load visibility, transportation processes, and cross-functional project coordination. Final deliverables may include a process-improvement summary, workflow map, final presentation, and recommended action plan.
Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or Data-Focused Programs: Aligns with Accounting and Finance, Pricing, Fuel Efficiency and Analysis, and Business Analysis. Interns may assist with data collection, financial review, reporting, variance tracking, pricing inputs, cost analysis, and business performance summaries. Final deliverables may include a data analysis report, dashboard, trend summary, assumptions log and recommended next steps.
Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or Cyber/Systems Programs: Aligns with Information Technology, Business Analysis, Project Management Office, and Department Systems Support. Interns may support systems documentation, reporting tools, user support materials, data validation, workflow testing, and technology-enabled process improvement. Possible deliverables may include data warehouse design, data cleaning and organization, systems or tool development, a project brief, user guide, testing summary, reporting tool, or improvement recommendation.
Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, Organizational Development, Education, or Public Administration: Aligns with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Driver Recruiting, Employment Verification, People & Performance, and Training and Development. Possible deliverables include support for the P&P roadmap, People & Performance structure and organization, performance-related initiatives, recruiting or onboarding materials, training resources, process-support documentation, or a project summary.
Marketing, Communications, Media, Digital Content, Graphic Design, Journalism, or Public Relations: Aligns with Marketing and Media, Driver Recruiting, Sales Support, and Department Communications. Interns may support content development, communication materials, campaign tracking, brand-aligned messaging, presentation support, and department communication projects. Final deliverables may include a final content package, communications plan, campaign summary, presentation materials, and results summary where available.
Sales, Business Development, Entrepreneurship, Customer Success, or Professional Selling: Aligns with Sales, Pricing, Sales Support, Third-Party Logistics and Brokerage, and Customer-Facing Operations. Interns may assist with market research, customer support materials, pricing inputs, sales process documentation, prospect research, and business-development support. Final deliverables may include a market or customer research summary, sales-support materials, final presentation, and recommended follow-up opportunities.
Safety, Risk Management, Insurance, Compliance, Criminal Justice, Environmental Health and Safety, or Legal Studies: Aligns with Safety, Risk, Insurance, Compliance, and Operations Support. Interns may support compliance documentation, safety reporting, claim or incident trend review, policy organization, audit preparation, and risk-reduction initiatives. Final deliverables may include a safety, compliance, or risk-review summary with observations, documentation updates, trend insights, and improvement recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a college, university, community college, technical school, or relevant certificate program. Equivalent education, training, or experience will be considered.
Ability to organize assigned work, meet deadlines, and communicate progress or barriers.
Ability to use common email, word-processing, spreadsheet, and collaboration applications, with training provided as appropriate.
Ability to work the schedule and at the location identified for the specific internship assignment.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the assigned internship, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework, employment, volunteer experience, or project experience related to the assigned department.
Demonstrated interest in transportation, logistics, or the relevant business function.
Ability to provide one academic, volunteer, or employment-related reference if requested during the selection process.
Preferred qualifications are not required. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply.
