Work Environment
As a Physical Therapist Assistant working onsite at our facility in a hospital setting, you will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including Physical Therapists, physicians, and support staff. Key Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Administering direct patient care therapeutic interventions as per the established treatment plan outlined by the supervising licensed Physical Therapist.
- Documenting patient progress, treatment outcomes, and any required information in accordance with departmental policies, ensuring compliance with state regulations and maintaining the highest standards of documentation.
- Maintaining comprehensive progress notes and discharge summaries to track patient development and inform future care plans.
- Responding effectively to any emergencies in adherence to established safety protocols, ensuring patient wellbeing at all times.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives by participating in chart reviews and departmental assessments aimed at enhancing service delivery.
- Attending family meetings to discuss ongoing patient care, promoting open communication and collaboration with family members regarding patient welfare.
- Performing any additional duties as required, contributing to a dynamic and responsive team environment.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The patients you will serve primarily consist of individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and various musculoskeletal conditions. Your role will significantly impact their rehabilitation journey, enabling them to regain strength, mobility, and independence. You will be instrumental in implementing tailored treatment plans aimed at improving functionality and alleviating pain.
Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- An active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
