What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders.
- Current South Carolina state licensure in good standing, or eligibility to obtain state licensure.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience or comfort working in a K–12 public school setting preferred.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary school teams.
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with IEP processes and state/federal special education guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences & Disorders.
- Current South Carolina state licensure in good standing, or documentation of eligibility to obtain licensure prior to placement.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred but not required.
- Experience in K–12 school-based speech-language services preferred. Experience may include assessments, IEP participation, and direct therapy delivery.
- Clear background check and ability to meet district requirements for working in schools.
- Willingness to work under supervision when required by district guidelines (e.g., SLPA working under a supervising CCC-SLP).
- For SLPA roles: B.S./B.A. in Communication Sciences/Disorders required. Experience preferred but not required.
Assignment Details
- Facility type: School (K–12 building-based).
- Schedule: Traditional K–12 school-year schedule for the 2026–2027 school year, aligned with district calendar.
- Position type: School-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) opportunities available.
- Floating: May be required to serve multiple school sites within the district as assigned.

What You'll Do
- Provide speech and language therapy consistent with IEP goals in a school-based setting.
- Conduct screenings and contribute to assessments under applicable supervision requirements.
- Prepare materials, manage a therapy workspace, and maintain accurate treatment data and subjective notes.
- Attend IEP and case management meetings under supervision as required.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student progress.
