What You Will Do:
- Perform quantitative safety risk assessments on gas turbine propulsion system flight safety hazards on commercial or military engines
- Develop quantitative models blending engineering insights and statistical methods to determine required actions
- Coordinate with P&W technical experts to identify and document engine event sequences that could hazard the aircraft, produce aircraft hazard assessments, and manage these hazards within the PW Safety Issue Management Process
- Develop models blending engineering insights, hardware failures and statistical methods. Work with FMECA’s, DFMEA’s and other reliability tools
- Evaluate hardware failures and malfunctions on experimental military engines.

Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in STEM or Mathematics field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- This position requires a strong desire to learn about the safety process as it impacts the aerospace industry.
- Course work exposure (operational Safety) includes Matlab, Pyton, C++, VBA, Minitab or related programming software and general propulsion system (jet engine basics)
- Course work exposure (reliability) includes VBA, mechanical design projects, statistics, and general propulsion system (jet engine basics)

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
