The Opportunity

Mayo Clinic Arizona seeks an outstanding academic endocrinologist to serve as Chair of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism & Nutrition. This leader will join Mayo during a period of transformative growth as the Phoenix campus expands significantly over the coming years.

Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Medicine, the Division Chair will provide strategic leadership across Mayo Clinic's three shields of clinical practice, research, and education. The successful candidate will advance the Division's national reputation, support faculty development, strengthen research initiatives, and guide continued growth across the enterprise.

The Division is nationally recognized for its integrated, multidisciplinary approach to endocrine care, with strengths in:

• Diabetes management and technology

• Bone metabolism and osteoporosis

• Thyroid and endocrine disorders

• Nutrition and obesity medicine

• Transplant-related endocrine care

• Advanced endocrine testing and therapies

The Division

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism & Nutrition is committed to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of endocrine and metabolic disease through excellence in patient care, education, and research.

Faculty are actively engaged in clinical, translational, and laboratory-based research involving:

• Diabetes and metabolic disease

• Obesity and nutrition

• Lipid disorders

• Osteoporosis and calcium disorders

• Pituitary, adrenal, and gonadal disorders

• Thyroid disease and thyroid cancer

• Transplant-related endocrine disorders

The Division benefits from Mayo Clinic's world-class research infrastructure and the Mayo Clinic-Arizona State University Alliance for Health Care, which supports innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital health, biomarkers, diabetes, and emerging technologies.

Education

The Arizona campus includes a separately accredited Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine campus and supports the training of medical students, Internal Medicine residents, and fellows. The Division sponsors an ACGME-accredited Endocrinology Fellowship Program, including rotations at Phoenix Children's Hospital and the Phoenix VA Health Care System.

The successful candidate will be a nationally respected endocrinologist and accomplished academic leader with a demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, research, education, innovation, and faculty development.

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or MD/PhD

• Board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism

• Eligible for unrestricted Arizona medical licensure

• Previous academic leadership experience

• Academic accomplishments appropriate for appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor level

• Minimum of 10 years of post-fellowship experience

• Demonstrated commitment to innovation and program growth

• Strong record of mentorship and faculty development

• Outstanding clinician with a track record of excellence in patient care
