Job Description <br><p><strong>Building Ops & Housekeeping Working Lead</strong></p><p>A Hands-On Leadership Role in Our Assisted Living Community</p><p><strong>Are you someone who can run a crew <em>and</em> run a budget?</strong></p><p>We're a smaller, close-knit Assisted Living Community looking for a <strong>Building Ops & Housekeeping Working Lead</strong> — someone just as comfortable rolling up their sleeves as they are managing a vendor contract or reviewing a budget. This is a true hybrid role: hands-on work alongside your team, combined with real ownership over supervision, vendors, and budget.</p><p>Because we're a smaller community, your decisions have a direct, visible impact — you'll see the results of your work every day.</p><p>What You'll Own</p><ul><li><strong>Team Leadership:</strong> Supervise housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and grounds staff — hiring, scheduling, coaching, and evaluating</li><li><strong>Hands-On Support:</strong> Work the floor alongside your team as a true working lead</li><li><strong>Vendor Oversight:</strong> Review bids, select contract services, and hold vendors accountable to quality</li><li><strong>Budget Management:</strong> Direct and monitor the annual building operations budget</li><li><strong>Preventative Maintenance:</strong> Build and maintain a preventative maintenance program</li><li><strong>Safety & Compliance:</strong> Serve as Emergency Preparedness Coordinator; ensure OSHA, Life Safety Code, and regulatory compliance</li><li><strong>Waste Management:</strong> Oversee proper handling of waste, including recycling and hazardous/infectious materials</li></ul><p>What We're Looking For</p><ul><li>Experience supervising a housekeeping, environmental services, or facilities team (senior living, healthcare, or hospitality)</li><li>Comfort managing budgets and evaluating vendor contracts</li><li>Willingness to work hands-on alongside your team</li><li>Familiarity with Life Safety Codes, OSHA, and emergency preparedness (or ability to learn quickly)</li><li>A mentorship-driven leadership style</li></ul><p>Why Join Us</p><p>As a smaller community, we offer less bureaucracy and more autonomy — a chance to truly build your department, with real ownership over your team, vendors, and budget.</p><p>If you're a working lead at heart, we'd love to hear from you.</p><p><strong>Apply today and help us maintain a safe, sanitary, welcoming home for our residents.</strong></p> <br>Qualifications <br><p><strong>Basic Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent; some vocational course work in business or trades desirable; Relevant professional certification preferred. (i.e. Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM), Facility Management Administrator (FMA).</li><li>Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in the environmental services department of a healthcare, skilled nursing, or independent housing community preferred.</li><li>Knowledge of practices, procedures, material and equipment relevant to the department including: laundry and floor care, plumbing, electrical, heating and air conditioning, painting and landscaping.</li><li>Must possess basic math skills and demonstrate proficiency with applicable software applications.</li><li>Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills.</li><li>Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.</li><li>Must possess a MVR in good standing in state of operation, with reliable transportation</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions / Physical Requirements </strong></p><ul><li>Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.</li><li>Ability to use, or oversee the use of, a variety of hand and power tools necessary to perform mechanical, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and allied building repairs and maintenance work. </li><li>Sits, stands, bends and moves frequently during working hours.</li><li>Exposure to hazardous chemicals, blood borne pathogens possible.</li><li>Is subject to frequent interruptions.</li><li>Interacts with residents, family members, visitors frequently</li></ul> <br>Additional Information <br><p>If you are considering a position at Christian Living Communities | Cappella Living Solutions, we have a wide range of benefits to consider!
