Full job description
The Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support at the Florist Ave facility. This includes ownership of department business metrics, engineering support and project management. This position has the potential to have management responsibility for area team leaders and/or supervisors. Individuals must be able to effectively interact with all areas of the business including R&D, engineering, shop floor, management, contractors, planning & inventory control, etc.
- Leads engineering improvements and capital updates to production processes.
- Collaborates with R&D Engineering on product and process performance improvements and new product development.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) and risk mitigation tools to ensure robust processes.
- Serves as gatekeeper for process capability prior to product launch.
- Identifies and eliminates non-value-added activities to improve efficiency.
- Standardizes processes and procedures across operations.
- Owns departmental performance, including process, cost, and yield improvements.
- Monitors key metrics and ensures performance visibility and accountability.
- Acts as a technical resource for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributes to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and manages budgetary performance.
- Ensures compliance with SOPs, standard work, and safety standards.
- Leads by example to maintain a safe, clean, and effective work environment.
- Provides direction, development, and support to supervisors and team leaders, including assistance with hiring, performance reviews, and discipline.
