Our Patient Access Quality Coordinator audits registrar’s daily work for accuracy and compliance. It’s the sort of job that needs a detailed eye and a knack for problem solving.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday

  • Must be able to travel to Michigan City, IN campus and Crown Point IN campus

  • Determine when new employees have met all departmental requirements and have reached proficiency suitable for independent work.

  • Conduct random daily audits of registrars’ work, and meet with supervisors to review errors and suggest corrective actions.

  • Provide support in all aspects of the patient registration areas, including inpatient, outpatient, and the Emergency Room.

  • Provide input to supervisors for new hire evaluations regarding their proficiency and growth.

  • Prepare statistical data to demonstrate quality improvement within the department.

  • Assist with all aspects of registration duties when patient census is high, to ensure efficient patient registration.

  • Prepare and update the employee manual and ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Audit and review new employees’ work for accuracy, compliance, and progress.

  • Assist with training of employees on new computer programs, new procedures, and equipment within the department.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required High School Diploma/GED

  • 2 years Patient Access experience in registration or scheduling. Required

  • 2 years Epic hospital/ambulatory Patient Access experience Preferred

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - The National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) Preferred
