The Director has the responsibility for the Integrated Epic Enterprise Clinical and Revenue Cycle System (including the Electronic Medical Record) using Epic software, processes and tools. This person plans, organizes, directs, and manages project teams and tasks to achieve goals with budgeted funds and available personnel. Works with leadership to establish policies and ensure the project goals and objectives are met through the planning and decision-making process. The Director provides strong leadership and implements changes when necessary to ensure the system implementation initiative is meeting the goals of the organization. Evaluates actual project/program progress against plans and directs corrective actions. The Director acts as an advocate and liaison between stakeholder groups across the organization and is the central point of communication for all project activities. Drives portfolio and resource management adoption within the IS organization and assists other project managers in their understanding and practice of project management.
Education
BA/BS in Computer Science, Business or clinical related field is required.
Experience
7 to 10 years of increasing responsibility in operations or informatics managing complex initiatives from design through implementation and acceptance.
4+ years of successful experience in strategic planning and execution, serving in a management role, working as a change agent and providing company-wide leadership.
Management of multi-million-dollar project budget.
Extensive experience managing projects, including within healthcare organizations. Includes execution and control of scope, budgets, schedules, issues, risks, testing, training and end user adoption.
Certification & Licensures
Epic certification in one or more application areas within 30 days of certification class completion if applicable.
Qualifications
Requires knowledge of healthcare informatics, team dynamics, and broad range of technology.
Directs large team of staff and external consultants.
Professional maturity and discretion to maintain both confidentiality and an objective perspective when working with sensitive and confidential information.
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with professional and non-professional staff representing diverse cultures, occupations, professions, needs and priorities.
Ability to effectively utilize external vendors and resources throughout the organization.
Strong negotiation, consulting and arbitration skills Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office required.
