Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.Position Details:
Position: Patient Care Tech
Department: Facility Float Pool
Shift: Full Time, Days
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily patient care, including hygiene, mobility, feeding assistance, and repositioning
Monitor patients and report any changes in condition to the care team
Record vital signs and maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers
Perform basic clinical tasks and advanced skills as trained (e.g., wound care, specimen collection)
Support unit operations through clerical tasks and use of healthcare technology
Follow safety, infection control, and patient care protocols
Collaborate with the healthcare team and manage workload effectively
Education & Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
CNA, CPCT, or enrollment in a healthcare career program preferred
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 1 month of hire
Completion of PCT competency validation within 3 months
Preferred Qualifications
Previous patient care experience
EMT, Paramedic, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) background
Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA) certification (where applicable)
