Job Description

Lighthouse Electric provides Interns an opportunity to actively engage in real projects within various departments of the company, gaining valuable skills and knowledge in the construction field.

 

Who You Are

 

You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with some focus on Electrical Engineering and/or Power systems. You enjoy finding solutions to complex problems and have an interest in the electrical construction industry. You are motivated to learn new software and skills. You portray a positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism.

 

What We Are Looking For

 

An Electrical Engineering Intern eager to gain hands-on experience and become part of a dedicated team. This 12-week internship will begin at the conclusion of the spring semester. This is a 40-hour per week, Monday through Friday position.

  • The ideal candidate is someone with:

    • Experience with electrical power systems

    • The ability to assist senior engineering leadership with:

      • Design of electrical power systems

      • Design of electrical lighting systems

      • Design of fire alarm systems

      • AGI32 lighting calculations

      • SKM Power Tools power system studies

      • Code analysis

      • Daily job tasks

      • Field investigation

    • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

    • Strong leadership and collaboration skills

    • Ability to analyze and quickly resolve issues

    • The ability to visit and walk jobsites within the Pittsburgh area. Jobsites include those within a 3-hour radius of Pittsburgh.

Duration of Internship & Expected Work Hours:

Anticipated Start Date: May 17th, 2027.

8-12 Weeks

Location: Canonsburg Office (In Office Internship/No Remote)
