Position Overview
MotionUp Rehabilitation Systems, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team in Alexandria, Virginia. This position is based in a hospital setting, allowing you to work directly with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks as a Physical Therapy Assistant will include:
- Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients, ensuring adherence to set protocols and goals.
- Conducting therapeutic exercises and modalities while monitoring patient progress and making adjustments as necessary under the supervision of physical therapists.
- Documenting patient care in compliance with established healthcare standards, utilizing electronic health record systems such as Net Health or Casamba for real-time documentation.
- Engaging with patients to provide education on recovery, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention.
- Maintaining equipment and therapy spaces to ensure they meet health and safety standards.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to patient care strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our primary focus is on serving the elderly population, many of whom face mobility challenges and require tailored rehabilitation interventions. You will have the opportunity to impact their lives positively, facilitating recovery from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions through effective therapy.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy or an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Virginia.
- Ability to practice physical therapy in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Passion for working with elderly patients, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique needs.
Preferred Experience
While we welcome new graduates into our practice, candidates with prior experience in skilled nursing facilities or rehabilitation clinics are preferred. Familiarity with healthcare documentation systems will be advantageous as well.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from USD 50,000 – 65,000 annually, commensurate with experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
