Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Clinicians will need to be able to read and interpret telemetry. Clinicians must be willing to care for both MST/PCU patients. Clinicians must be willing to precept nursing students.

Each resume employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and teaching facility. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year.

Unit Details: The unit cares for surgical patients, including total hip and knee replacements, small bowel resections, hysterectomies, and exploratory laparotomies. Medical patients include those with MRSA, C. difficile infections, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, and COVID-19. Telemetry patients commonly present with chest pain. The unit cares for stable CPAP or BiPAP patients. If no nursing assistant is available, the RN takes 3 patients and provides primary care.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday for day shift. Holiday rotation distributes holidays fairly. During low census, staff rotate standby turns. Travelers may or may not be included in the low-census standby rotation, depending on the contract.

Floating Requirements: This position is first to float. Clinicians will float to the Multi Care Unit and Pediatric unit to care for adult MST patients and will also float to West Campus MedSurg Tele.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
