- Conducts thorough assessments to identify areas needing improvement.
- Analyzes data from patient safety incidents and near misses.
- Designs a patient safety program with policies, procedures, and protocols aimed at reducing errors and enhancing patient safety.
- Ensures the program aligns with national and international standards and guidelines.
- Implements the program across the organization, including training staff and integrating safety practices into daily operations.
- Continuously monitors the effectiveness of the program through regular audits, feedback, and performance metrics.
- Evaluates outcomes to identify successes and areas for further improvement.
- Ensures compliance with standards and guidelines set by regulatory bodies, accreditation organizations, and best practice frameworks.
- Provides ongoing education and training for staff on patient safety principles and practices.
- Establishes clear reporting mechanisms for safety incidents and near misses.
- Communicates findings and improvements to all stakeholders, including staff, patients, and regulatory bodies.
- Leads a multidisciplinary team to foster a culture of safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skilled in the identification and prevention of potential risks, including complaint resolution. [Required]
- Extensive experience in the investigation and analysis of incidents and claims. [Required]
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. [Required]
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, visitors and the community. [Required]
- Basic knowledge and ability to work with personal computers and software applications, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Risk Management software applications. [Required]
Education:
- Bachelor's [Required]
- Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
- in a healthcare-related field applicable to clinical licensure
Work Experience:
- 5+ clinical experience in acute care setting, preferably tertiary setting [Required]
- 3+ experience in healthcare risk management [Required]

- Registered Nurse (RN) [Required] OR Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC) [Required] OR State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] OR Occupational Therapist (OT) [Required] OR Physical Therapist (PT) [Required] OR Physician Assistant (PA) [Required] OR Licensed Paramedic (PARA) [Required] OR Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) [Required]
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$128,585.60 - $239,158.40Background Screening Requirement (Florida Law)
