Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a board-certified Cardiothoracic/Vascular Surgeon for urgent call coverage due to a provider medical emergency. This opportunity involves adult inpatient cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care within a full-service acute care hospital supported by onsite diagnostic services, EPIC EMR, and a collaborative surgical team. The assignment begins immediately and is expected to continue for at least two months, with additional sporadic coverage anticipated afterward.

Dates/Schedule

• Start Date: May 28 at 7:00 AM
• Ongoing coverage needed for at least 2 months
• Additional sporadic coverage expected after the initial assignment period

Job Details/Responsibilities

• Provide adult inpatient cardiothoracic and vascular surgery call coverage
• Practice setting: 100% hospital-based acute care
• Work alongside:
  • 1 physician
  • 2 mid-level providers
• Facility details:
  • 250 total beds
  • 60 ICU beds
  • Onsite lab and x-ray services
  • EPIC documentation system

Required Procedures Include:

• General cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
• Coronary artery bypass surgery
• Congenital defect procedures
• Valvular repair and replacement surgeries
• Aneurysm repair
• Lung resections including VATS procedures
• Chest wall and pleural procedures
• Esophageal and diaphragm surgeries
• Carotid and renal endarterectomy
• Ventilation management
• Bronchoscopy
• Evaluation and management of acute volume and blood pressure issues

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Board Certified in Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and Vascular Surgery required
• Active Ohio medical license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must have a clean malpractice and licensing record
• Providers must be available for the listed coverage dates to be considered
• No exceptions to board certification requirements
