Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.
Job Summary: The Service Center Manager is responsible for managing warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, and staff supervision. The role ensures efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of goods.
- Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures.
- Ensure the warehouse layout optimizes space and operational efficiency.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to manage stock levels and prevent shortages or excess.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.
Staff Supervision:
- Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff.
- Schedule and supervise staff to ensure optimal performance and coverage.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards.
- Implement and enforce safety training programs for warehouse staff.
Customer Service:
- Oversee the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to order processing or delivery.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
Equipment and Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and conveyors.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and in accordance with regulations.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, including inventory levels, order accuracy, and staff productivity.
- Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to warehouse processes and procedures.
- Implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (preferred) OR similar experience
- 5 years proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control.
- Proven track record in leading a successful team.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy items.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
