Float Physical Therapist | Acute, Inpatient Rehab & Outpatient | Huntsville, AL | PSLF Eligible

Position Highlights

  • Float role across acute care, inpatient rehab, and hospital outpatient at a nonprofit hospital in the Huntsville area
  • Formal mentorship program
  • Acute: full medical mix, rehab aides assist with setup and transfers
  • IPR: 4 to 5 patients per day, 60 to 90 minute sessions, medical debility, ortho, and neuro
  • Outpatient: separate General, Sports, and Neuro teams
  • Monday through Friday, 8 to 5. Weekend rotation about 3 shifts per quarter, paid at overtime rate
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance

About the Role

A nonprofit hospital in the Huntsville area is hiring a Float PT to rotate across acute care, inpatient rehab, and outpatient, covering census bumps, leaves, and vacation.

Acute covers the full medical mix including stroke, neuro, ortho, cardiac, and general medical, with rehab aides assisting on setup and transfers. Inpatient rehab carries medical debility, ortho, and neuro at 4 to 5 patients per day with 60 to 90 minute sessions. The hospital-affiliated outpatient clinic runs separate General, Sports, and Neuro teams.

A formal mentorship program supports new grads and clinicians transitioning from other settings. Because the hospital is a nonprofit, the role is eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
