Work Environment

The Physical Therapy Assistant will work in a hospital-based outpatient facility that boasts state-of-the-art equipment and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Our clinic is designed to facilitate effective rehabilitation whilst providing comfort to patients. You will be working onsite during regular office hours, primarily Monday to Friday, with flexible scheduling options allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans as outlined in the Doctor of Physical Therapy's Plan of Care.
• Provide direct patient care through hands-on manual therapy techniques and instruct patients in functional exercises tailored to their rehabilitation needs.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and ensure compliance with billing practices associated with therapy sessions.
• Collaborate harmoniously within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic patient-centered care.
• Adhere to state and federal regulations regarding patient care practices and documentation requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient demographic mainly includes individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. You will have the opportunity to work closely with patients of varying ages, from young athletes to seniors, in need of rehabilitation aimed at restoring mobility and enhancing quality of life.

Qualifications

• New York State Licensure: Must possess a current license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in New York.
• Educational Background: Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program, resulting in a bachelor's degree.
• Clinical and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate patient needs while understanding the operational aspects of a healthcare setting.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 60,000 per year, with opportunities for productivity bonuses based on performance. Additionally, employees enjoy a range of benefits, including:
