Full job description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, build, and stand up HIL systems from scratch, including requirements definition, wiring, integration, I/O mapping, model setup, and execution.
- Develop and configure HIL test environments for automotive systems and components.
- Use dSPACE tools for HIL system development, integration, testing, and execution.
- Develop and integrate system models using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Configure and validate I/O signals, interfaces, and communication between hardware and simulation models.
- Execute HIL tests, analyze results, troubleshoot issues, and document findings.
- Work with automotive systems such as low-voltage systems, body controls, power distribution, vehicle dynamics, thermal systems, and zone architecture.
- Support integration and testing using automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define requirements, test strategies, and validation activities.
- Support diagnostics testing and troubleshooting as required.
Required Skills
- 4–5+ years of HIL Engineering experience
- Hands-on dSPACE experience
- MATLAB/Simulink modeling experience
- Experience building HIL systems from scratch
- Automotive systems experience in Low Voltage, Body Controls, Power Distribution, Vehicle Dynamics, Thermal Systems, or Zone Architecture
- Knowledge of CAN, LIN, and Ethernet protocols
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Vector tools
- Automotive diagnostics experience
- Previous experience working as an HIL Engineer
- Background in Formula SAE, EcoCAR, Clemson Deep Orange, ICAR, or similar automotive engineering programs
