Key Responsibilities
- Implement detailed treatment plans as designed by supervising Physical Therapists, focusing on enhancing patients’ strength, balance, endurance, and mobility.
- Assist patients in the performance of activities of daily living (ADLs), ensuring they can engage in their routine safely and effectively.
- Document all therapy sessions meticulously, including patient progress and any observed changes in condition, to facilitate coordinated care among the medical team.
- Provide education and instruction to patients and their families on effective mobility techniques and home-based exercise programs, promoting self-management strategies.
- Collaborate closely with physical therapists, healthcare staff, and caregivers to ensure comprehensive and integrated patient care.
- Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust treatment plans accordingly, communicating significant findings to the supervising PT and medical team.
Patient Population / Client Focus
As a PTA at Mend Force Physical Therapy, you will primarily work with patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. This population may include elderly patients, post-operative individuals, and those requiring rehabilitation therapy. Your role will be critical in supporting each patient’s unique recovery journey, fostering their independence and overall well-being.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in New Jersey is a requirement.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques, anatomy, and treatment methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathetic engagement.
- Proficiency in documentation and reporting, with a keen attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for any necessary patient outreach.
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a hospital, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing setting.

Compensation and Benefits
