Full job description

What We Offer:

The MR Technologist I will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and safely operating the MR equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program or MR Program, required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in MR, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • NH Medical Center-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR) within 6 months of hire, required.
    • NH Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility - Certified and Registered within 6 Months of hire in ARRT RT(R)(MR), required.
    • Hospital Outpatient Department-Certified and registered by ARRT in MR - RT(R)(MR) or RT(MR), required.
    • IV Credentialed, required.
    • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement
    • Applicable state license, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Thorough knowledge of MRI imaging equipment, Analytical ability and basic computer skills. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Good communication skills.
What You'll Do:
  • Perform high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders, department protocols, and ARRT safety standards.
  • Verify patient identity, clinical history, allergies, screening requirements, and informed consent prior to imaging procedures.
  • Prepare, position, and monitor patients throughout MRI procedures while ensuring safety, comfort, and exceptional patient care.
  • Operate MRI equipment and select appropriate imaging protocols, coils, and pulse sequences to produce diagnostic-quality images.
  • Administer contrast media and perform venipuncture as appropriate and within scope of practice.
  • Evaluate image quality, ensure accurate patient identification and anatomical labeling, and transmit completed studies for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain MRI safety by conducting patient and equipment screenings, identifying contraindications, monitoring the MRI environment, and following emergency procedures.
  • Accurately document procedures and utilize EMR, RIS, and PACS systems to maintain patient records and workflow efficiency.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations while adhering to infection prevention, radiation/MR safety, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain required certifications, licensure, annual competencies, and continuing education.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide a safe, efficient, and remarkable patient experience.
  • Assist with training and mentoring students and new team members as appropriate.
