Location: NYC (Hybrid – at least 3 days onsite/week)

One of our clients, a leading software company operating in the telecommunications and network optimization sector, is seeking a System Engineer to join its technical team. This role focuses on software deployment, system integration, infrastructure support, and customer-facing technical activities within enterprise environments.
Role and responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and upgrade software solutions in customer environments.
- Design and recommend optimal system architectures and deployment models.
- Provide technical support related to system integration, databases, licensing, and infrastructure.
- Deliver administration and technical training to customers.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support pre-sales and post-sales technical engagements, including evaluations, proof of concepts, installations, and production support.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, support, and customer success teams to ensure successful implementations.
- Participate in automation and process optimization initiatives.
Technical Environment
- Windows and Linux environments
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, Citrix)
- Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Scripting & Automation: PowerShell, Python, Bash
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP
- Containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (nice to have)
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in system administration, software deployment, infrastructure support, or database administration.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with virtualized environments.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Scripting experience, ideally with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact directly with customers.
- Ability to work across infrastructure, software, database, and cloud-related topics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with enterprise software deployment and support.
- Knowledge of automation platforms and workflow orchestration.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Previous customer-facing or consulting experience.
