Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Administering direct patient care based on the treatment plans devised by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring adherence to physician prescriptions.
  • Documenting patient progress through regular updates and maintaining up-to-date records, including progress notes and discharge summaries, using our electronic health records (EHR) system.
  • Engaging in therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation techniques to enhance recovery, tailored specifically to the needs of each patient.
  • Responding promptly to emergencies by following established safety protocols, ensuring patient well-being throughout the treatment process.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives by contributing to case reviews and sharing insights that enhance care delivery.
  • Attending family conferences to provide updates and coordinate with family members concerning the management of patients' treatment plans.
  • Completing additional duties as determined necessary by the supervising Physical Therapist or department management to support the overall mission of BodySync PT.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse patient population, including post-surgical orthopedic patients, individuals recovering from sports injuries, and those experiencing chronic pain. Understanding the unique needs of each patient will be paramount, as you will help them through personalized therapeutic interventions designed to restore their mobility and improve their overall health outcomes.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field; an Associate's Degree combined with relevant experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and rehabilitation methodologies utilizing evidence-based practices.
