Portland Vet - Stroudwater is opening a brand-new general practice in Portland, and we re looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our culture, contribute your ideas, and deliver exceptional care in a collaborative, growing environment.

The Opportunity

Current Schedule: Full-time | Monday Thursday to start | No weekends or holidays

As our practice grows, our schedule will expand to include Friday and Saturday, so flexibility is a plus.

Compensation: $23 $29/hour, based on experience and credentials
Sign-on bonus potential based on experience and credentials

What You ll Do

• Safely handle and restrain patients using low-stress techniques
• Assist with exams, treatments, surgery, and dentistry
• Collect lab samples, take radiographs, record vitals, and perform basic lab work
• Keep treatment, exam, and supply areas clean and organized
• Support clients with clear, compassionate communication throughout their visit
• Work closely with the entire team to provide high-quality patient care

What We re Looking For

• 1 2+ years of small-animal veterinary experience
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal handling, and basic clinical workflows
• Great communication
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Tech-savvy
