Full job description

Job Duties and Experience Desired:

  • 5+ years of experience in metallurgy
    • Specifically steel heat treat processes
    • Induction hardening on strip steel
    • Batch heat treat using furnaces for crankshafts
  • Knowledge of metal turning and/or stamping
    • We make guide bars, pistons, and crankshafts in our metal areas
  • Use of quality tools
    • 8D, FMEA, Process Audits

· Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

· Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality data.

· Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

· Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

· Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality activities.

· Develops and generates statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc. and recommends action as required.

· Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.

· All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.

Specifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience, is preferred
