Full job description
**Responsibilities:**
- **Clinical Care:** Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/histories, perform venipuncture, conduct CLIA-waived point-of-care testing (COVID, flu, strep, glucose, A1C, UA, etc.), assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs, and nebulizer therapy.
- **Insurance Verification & Front Desk:** Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile payment logs, and maintain EMR accuracy.
- **Patient Service:** Educate patients on clinical procedures and financial expectations, provide clear discharge instructions, and de-escalate concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- **Team & Compliance:** Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs, support infection control, and uphold HIPAA standards.
**Qualifications:**
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
- At least 1+ year of experience in insurance verification and patient registration.
- Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within the defined onboarding period.
- Urgent care or emergency room experience preferred.
- EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); familiarity with payer portals (e.g., Waystar).
- Demonstrated venipuncture and specimen collection skills.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Must successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check as a condition of employment.
- Full availability, including the ability to work evenings/weekends and float to nearby centers as needed.

- Fast-paced urgent care setting with role-switching, standing/walking, blood/fluid exposure (PPE required), occasional lifting up to 25–30 lbs, and weekend/evening shifts.
