Position Overview
Gulf Side Physical Therapy is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in San Jose, California. Key Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing tailored treatment plans for patients recovering from surgery, injury, or chronic health conditions.
- Conduct therapy sessions by guiding patients through prescribed exercises and stretches, using proper techniques to ensure safety and efficacy.
- Monitor and document patient progress with precision, maintaining clear communication with the supervising physical therapist to adjust care plans as necessary.
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding at-home exercises, safety practices, and ongoing care strategies.
- Maintain and sanitize therapy equipment, ensuring that all tools are set up correctly and according to safety protocols before each session.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, documentation standards, and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will engage with a diverse patient population, ranging from post-operative recovery individuals to those managing chronic conditions such as arthritis or neurological disorders. Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active California PTA license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or a willingness to obtain it upon hiring.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience is required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build patient relationships and work collaboratively with staff.

Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or rehabilitation facility is preferred.
