Job Summary:

Colby College Athletics is seeking energetic, reliable, and customer-focused individuals to join our Game Day Operations team as Concessions Stand Workers. In this role, you will be the face of Mule pride for fans, parents, alumni, and students visiting our world-class athletic facilities. You will handle food preparation, credit card transactions, and maintain a clean, welcoming environment during home athletic events.

The starting pay rate for this position is $15.10 per hour.


Key Responsibilities


Customer Service & Sales

  • Greet fans and visitors with an enthusiastic, helpful attitude.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process credit card transactions

Food Prep & Operations

  • Prepare and package standard concession items (e.g., popcorn, pretzels, hot dogs, hot/cold beverages) following safety and portion guidelines.
  • Restock food displays, refrigerators, and condiment stations throughout the event.
  • Monitor food temperatures to ensure safety compliance.

Cleanliness & Safety

  • Maintain a spotless, organized workspace adhering to Maine food health and safety regulations.
  • Wipe down counters, clean equipment (like popcorn machines and rollers), and dispose of trash at the conclusion of the event.
  • Follow closing procedures to secure the stand and inventory.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, or food service is a plus, but not required. We will train you!
  • Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability: Flexibility to work schedules aligned with home game calendars, which heavily include evenings, Friday nights, and Saturdays/Sundays.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods (3 to 5 hours) and lift up to 30 lbs (bags of ice, soda syrup boxes, or beverage crates).
