Full job description
Special Education Teacher (K-5) for a 36-week contract in Grimesland, NC. Responsible for creating inclusive lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and collaborating with staff and families to support diverse learners. Earn up to $48/hr with premium pay and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan engaging lesson plans tailored to K-5 students with diverse learning needs.
Maintain a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and student development.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success.
Assess and report on student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a respectful, productive atmosphere.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or equivalent.
Current North Carolina teaching license or special education certification.
Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a K-5 school setting.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Patience, adaptability, and ability to work within a team.
Background checks and drug screening required.
Ability to work standard daytime hours.
